U-DOO Expands Cell Phone Fun, Personalization

U-DOO by Wirefly is an application that adds a great deal of custom fun to most of today's cell phone models. It allows users to build custom Avatars, select a message for the characters to speak and send the finished products to a cell phone, to a friend via email or to a MySpace account. The talking characters can then be set to function as custom ringtones.

The first step is to choose an avatar character from among 20 options. Facial features, hair color, clothing, hat, accessories and background can be modified and personalized at the click of a mouse. Avatar characters range from common face and hair types to more outreageously fun ones such as Manga, sumo-wrestlers and even a red devil.

The next step, which is adding custom audio to the talking Avatar, is even more fun. Users can choose between pre-recorded files, which include some cool and irreverent notes, type a message using a text-to-speech tool, or record the audio themselves by calling an 800 number and speaking their message in their own voice.

Once the custom talking Avatar is fully created and is complete with a message, it can be sent to a cell phone or emailed to a friend, at which point it can become a custom ringtone to be set to jingle whenever the associated friend calls. Also, recipients of U-DOO emails can in turn create their own U-DOO characters and customized talking ringtones.

U-DOO Avatars Can Also Grace MySpace Pages

U-DOO by Wirefly also allows users to publish their talking avatar to their MySpace page. U-DOO’s email and MySpace options are free to end-users, and the cell phone download option is offered as a subscription service through wireless carriers with a 60-day free trial and $4.99 per month for unlimited access thereafter.
